Karen A Dyer, REALTOR
Director of Development & New Construction
Hello. My name is Karen A. Dyer. I have been involved in real estate since 1999, in a variety of capacities from General Brokerage, to On-Site Sales to Managing inventories of over $400 Million for builders and developers. The key to my success, I believe, is the fundamental desire to create and nurture relationships on all levels - at all times.
I believe that the process of buying or selling a home should not be taken lightly which is why I strive to keep the pulse within the industry and different market segments. I try to work as a positive change agent, with innovative ideas and solutions to ever changing market conditions that are tied to a number of factors like the economy, banking guidelines, local and federal governments and more. Through it all, however, real estate is a basic need - you just need the right person to guide you through the transaction whether you are a family, individual, builder or developer. That's where I come in...
My experience and perspective on life provides me with the ability to adjust, always looking for what is most important to Sellers and Buyers in today's world. For many, purchasing a home is one of the largest investments one will make and it should be handled with care and competence. I provide that level of competence on a fulltime basis.
I grew up in NC, attended high school in Tennessee, and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1993. While at UT, I was a Full Scholarship, Student-Athlete in Volleyball. I received Most Improved Player, All SEC Academic Awards, completed an internship at the Tennessee General Assembly, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Communications with a major in Public Relations.
After graduation, I moved to Atlanta, and worked at Delta Air Lines as a Flight Attendant. Shortly thereafter, I joined The Condo Store in Atlanta, GA, as a Realtor. From there, I joined Morris & Raper Realtors, as the Director of Operations for the Intown Group, a division of Morris & Raper Realtors that handled accounts within the I285 Perimeter/Loop (Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, East Atlanta, Castelbury Hills, Virginia Highlands, Morningside, etc). In this role, I helped to recruit, hire, train and manage 40-55 sales staff and 25-35 properties (projects) at any given time. In addition, I was Selling Sales Manager of River Tower at South Bluffs in Memphis, TN, where I received "Sales Person of the Year". While under my direction, River Tower at South Bluffs received the "People's Choice Award" and "Best View" during the Vesta Home Show in 2006.
In 2006, I joined Garrison Partners Consultants, as General Manager, opening our Florida Division and overseeing the sales staff, the sales program and marketing strategies of four distressed condominium communities in Florida, totaling over $200 Million in inventory. From Florida, I transferred to St. Louis, MO, to manage the daily operations of The Bogen, The Ventana, Blu City Spaces and West End Lofts, totaling over $81 Million in inventory.
I have also practiced real estate in NC, where I completed the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors Triangle Leadership Academy 2012, received a Scholarship to attend Vision Quest (a leadership conference held in Winston-Salem in January 2012), was on the Government Affairs Committee, the Community Service Committee, and the Women's Council of Realtors. In addition, I am an Associate Dean for the 2013 Triangle Leadership Academy sponsored by RRAR.
Currently, I am a REALTOR, working with both Sellers and Buyers in the Atlanta, GA, real estate market. In addition, I serve as Director of Development & New Construction for PalmerHouse Properties & Associates. Being involved in the community has always been important to me, both professionally and personally, and I am active in the National Association of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors, the Atlanta Board of Realtors, the National Home Builders Association, the Atlanta Home Builders Association, and Women's Council of Realtors. Further, I am a lifetime member of The Tennessee Letterman's Club, a member of the Human Rights Campaign, and volunteer for other civic and equality community organizations.
You can find me on the First Multiple Listing Service, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Zillow, Trulia, Active Rain, and Craigslist, as well as many on-line national real estate networking and marketing groups. I hold a real estate Broker's license in GA, NC, and MO, and a real estate Sales Person license in TN.
